TaDa Invite and Faux Cupcake!

I had so much fun making these with I do believe my FAVE collection from TaDa...BIG TOP! I am thinking that I am going to do a circus theme in my classroom next year and these would be amazing invites to send to the kids to invite them to my classroom! I think they would also be great invites for a birthday party too!

I thought it would be fun to make an invite to go with this little party favor, so here's what I came up with...

I used Balancing Act, Clowning Around, and Snippets and Clippets for the entire card.

2 Cards, 2 LInes, 4 Squares

  It's a beautiful day again here on the east coast.  I got this crazy idea today to make 2 cards with 2 different lines from TaDa Creative Studios and basically use somewhat of the same kind of sketch for the card.  

So, here's the first card.

It's made with the Abode A La Mode collection.  An oldie but a goodie! Here's how I did it!

Tuesday Trigger...Home Sweet Home

For those of you who have never been to Moxie Fab World...you gotta go there.  Cath Edvalson always has some great challenges going on over there.  I've been stalking the site for about a year...I've finally decided to play along with this week's Tuesday's Trigger.

I am a copycat...LOL.  I got my inspiration directly from the photo.  I really like how it turned out.  Thanks for stopping by to check it out.

Taking pics in dark ...revisited)

The other day I told you I would share what I am doing now to take pictures since watching the video.  So, tonight I took some detail photos to show you what I do.  I don't know about you, but I tend to create late at night and then with going to school in the morning...I find it very difficult to get pictures during the day.  For me...it is a necessity to find a way to take "good" pictures in the dark at my house.

I turn my fluorescent light in the bathroom on, my bedroom light and my hall light.  This is where I take the picture.

 I didn't do anything except resize, sharpen to 13 and auto fix this picture in picnik.

 So, this is what my set up looks like.  Do you see how there is a shadow on the background.  I just move the card forward until that is gone before I take the picture.  I use the dull side of the white poster board and no flash.

Based on Margie's comment...she wanted me to try this. What I did was use more posterboard and wrapped it around.  I folded it to make a small little hole in the corner where it was "kind of like" in a box.  The next time I am going to fold the other one that I have wrapped around the sink, so it's closer to the project.  I think that will make a difference also.

Graphic 45 Design Team 2012 Audition

Have you seen this? Here's mine!  Have to say... I didn't realize how much I use Graphic 45 product until I went looking for projects that I have made.
And I did make a few for the call with my big old stash of it!:) Best wishes to all!

This one uses Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk Collection.

Supplies used:

paper: Graphic 45

cardstock: Stampin Up!

This one uses Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime Collection.  Anywhere you want dimension just go over it with the glossy accents.  If you look closely you can see that I used it on all the butterflies on the patterned piece of paper.  You can also see that I put a dot in the center of each of those diamonds with the glossy accent to add dimension.  I also used it as a glue to put the jewels on the paper.

 With this fussy cut fairy, I placed glossy accents where I wanted and then shook glitter on it.  Not only do I have dimension, but also a shimmer.

This one also uses Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime Collection.  I used some of my Making Memories paint and wet my sponge brush to create the frame around the pattern paper, the photo, fabric letters and tag.  I sprayed my doily with Tattered Angels glimmermist sand.  You know you can get those doilies at The Dollar Tree.  And no...I didn't take this picture so that I would have it to go with the Once Upon a Springtime collection.  It was taken a few years ago on Easter.  And as always, Kati was acting so silly.  Her dress was so busy, so I made it black and white and softened it around the edges. 

To create the flower effect with the ribbon, I just tied the ribbon three times loosely, put a pop dot on the back of it, stuck it to the paper and then played with it once I put it down to get it to look like that.

Look at all the gorgeous papers from Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime. The pattern paper is cut into an 81/2" square and then folded. It goes together so fast and is super easy!!!

How to video to make origami pocket above!

This card is cut at 41/4 X11" and then the black cardstock is 4X4.  I made this with the Graphic 45 Communique Collection, some twine, Glitz letters and those cool Graphic 45 chipboard buttons.

This card is made with Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium, some Kraft cardstock, my 11/4" circle punch, a cool Graphic 45 chipboard button.

 Here's a close up of how I placed it on the card.  This was made with the 8X8 paper pack.

And here's how I attached the chipboard button. I put a pop dot under it to give it some dimension.

Poolside TaDa Winter 2012 Collection

I dug out some printed pics from 2000 to do this layout! I knew they would be just perfect for this collection.  How many pool/beach/water pics do you have already printed or on your digital camera? Too many to count...like me! This collection is PERFECT for all of them.

There are some days that you remember like yesterday when you see pictures. This was one of those days.  My sister and Dalton (my nephew) were visiting.  It was such a hot day and I was so pregnant! (Jeremy was born 9 days later!) Watching them run around the water sprinkler was just hilarious! They liked it on low, so hardly any water came out.  Then they would shake their little bottoms in it!  And the smiles on their faces was unforgettable!

  Supplies: pattern paper-Ta Da Poolside Collection, journaling card-Ta Da Poolside snippets and clippets, embellishments-Ta Da Poolside collection stickies, Jenni Bowlin crepe paper ribbon, Bo Bunny chipboard, Kaisercraft gems, American Crafts foam letters; ink-Amuse Studio seattle craft pad

This was a simple page to make.  I pulled my nail around the edges of all the pattern paper to distress it a little and then slide my ink pad across the paper.  Cut a 4" piece of Snack Shack.  Then I cut about a 2" piece of SPF 50 and fringed the bottom by trying to stay as close as I could on the red and white stripe lines and attached to the bottom underneath of the snack shack piece. Last I curled up the fringes that I cut.  I placed the crepe paper over the top and then folded it over to create more 3D on my page.
