Graphic 45 Design Team 2012 Audition

Have you seen this? Here's mine! Have to say... I didn't realize how much I use Graphic 45 product until I went looking for projects that I have made.
And I did make a few for the call with my big old stash of it!:) Best wishes to all!

This one uses Graphic 45 On the Boardwalk Collection.

Supplies used:

paper: Graphic 45

cardstock: Stampin Up!

ink: Stampin Up!

stamps: My Pink Stamper

metal embellie: Stampin Up!

ribbon: unknown

This one uses Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime Collection. Anywhere you want dimension just go over it with the glossy accents. If you look closely you can see that I used it on all the butterflies on the patterned piece of paper. You can also see that I put a dot in the center of each of those diamonds with the glossy accent to add dimension. I also used it as a glue to put the jewels on the paper.

With this fussy cut fairy, I placed glossy accents where I wanted and then shook glitter on it. Not only do I have dimension, but also a shimmer.

This one also uses Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime Collection. I used some of my Making Memories paint and wet my sponge brush to create the frame around the pattern paper, the photo, fabric letters and tag. I sprayed my doily with Tattered Angels glimmermist sand. You know you can get those doilies at The Dollar Tree. And no...I didn't take this picture so that I would have it to go with the Once Upon a Springtime collection. It was taken a few years ago on Easter. And as always, Kati was acting so silly. Her dress was so busy, so I made it black and white and softened it around the edges.

To create the flower effect with the ribbon, I just tied the ribbon three times loosely, put a pop dot on the back of it, stuck it to the paper and then played with it once I put it down to get it to look like that.

Look at all the gorgeous papers from Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime. The pattern paper is cut into an 81/2" square and then folded. It goes together so fast and is super easy!!!

How to video to make origami pocket above!

This card is cut at 41/4 X11" and then the black cardstock is 4X4. I made this with the Graphic 45 Communique Collection, some twine, Glitz letters and those cool Graphic 45 chipboard buttons.

This card is made with Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium, some Kraft cardstock, my 11/4" circle punch, a cool Graphic 45 chipboard button.

Here's a close up of how I placed it on the card. This was made with the 8X8 paper pack.

And here's how I attached the chipboard button. I put a pop dot under it to give it some dimension.

Poolside TaDa Winter 2012 Collection

I dug out some printed pics from 2000 to do this layout! I knew they would be just perfect for this collection. How many pool/beach/water pics do you have already printed or on your digital camera? Too many to count...like me! This collection is PERFECT for all of them.

There are some days that you remember like yesterday when you see pictures. This was one of those days. My sister and Dalton (my nephew) were visiting. It was such a hot day and I was so pregnant! (Jeremy was born 9 days later!) Watching them run around the water sprinkler was just hilarious! They liked it on low, so hardly any water came out. Then they would shake their little bottoms in it! And the smiles on their faces was unforgettable!

Supplies: pattern paper-Ta Da Poolside Collection, journaling card-Ta Da Poolside snippets and clippets, embellishments-Ta Da Poolside collection stickies, Jenni Bowlin crepe paper ribbon, Bo Bunny chipboard, Kaisercraft gems, American Crafts foam letters; ink-Amuse Studio seattle craft pad

This was a simple page to make. I pulled my nail around the edges of all the pattern paper to distress it a little and then slide my ink pad across the paper. Cut a 4" piece of Snack Shack. Then I cut about a 2" piece of SPF 50 and fringed the bottom by trying to stay as close as I could on the red and white stripe lines and attached to the bottom underneath of the snack shack piece. Last I curled up the fringes that I cut. I placed the crepe paper over the top and then folded it over to create more 3D on my page.

Taking good project photos..

I found this on Design Team Calls. It is well worth the $7. I was not getting the quality of photos I wanted and now I feel like I am starting to get some nice photos again. It is so frustrating when you can't get a photo to show off how good (you think) your project looks. Try it out! I have found 2 ways I can do it. One in natural light and one in my bathroom under fluorescent lights. I'll show you what I've started doing later this week.

Yee Haw Collection from TaDa!

Here's my first project with the new Yee Haw collection! I literally just picked my box up from the post office at 9 this morning and two hours later this is what I have for you! And let's not talk about the mess that I have to clean up as I was in my creative zen! LOL!

Supplies:

pattern paper: Yee Haw collection from Ta Da, laser cut: 6X6 Lucky in Burning Ember, embellishments: Sassafras Lass, provocraft: Cricut accent essentials cartridge

I sanded it and distressed the edges of everything. I am really happy with it even though it's just a very simple layout!

You know they always say a picture is worth a thousand words. Jeremy wore that hat and those mud boots 24/7 when he was 4 years old. I'll never forget when I had to take my oldest to the dentist one day and I fought with him about wearing those boots for 15 minutes. Finally, I gave in and realized that it just didn't matter! When we got to the dentist that day, the girls there just laughed and laughed and Jeremy looked at me and said, "See, they think I look cool!" In my mind I thought no...they think you look ridiculous! Isn't it amazing how things that seemed so important then, was just so NOT! I can't believe he is almost 12!

You are Amazing! Ta Da Card

I am really happy with the way this slide card turned out using Ta Da's Bountiful Blooms Collection. I made about 20 of the same style of card yesterday with different paper and knew that this would be a great way to show this paper off.

Supplies:

pattern paper: Bountiful Blooms Ta Da Creative Studios; cardstock: Amuse Studio (fern and sugar); ink: Amuse Studio (fern and cranberry) and black tuxedo Memento; stamps: Ta Da Creative Studios and Amuse Studio; ribbon: Stampin' Up; pearl: Amuse Studio; tools: 13/8" and 1" circle punch, Tim Holtz sander and my fingernail {for distressor...because I was too lazy to go and get mine:)}

In case you want to make it, here's how you can do it! Cut 51/2 X9 piece of paper. Score at 81/2 and 41/4. Put glue on the score at 81/2 and glue together. I sanded and distressed a little. Then put 13/8" circle half way to create the half circle. Then decorated the piece of white cardstock (21/2 X 3) by stamping. I tied a ribbon around the bottom and made a bow. Hint: If your bows always seem to be upside down then turn your paper around and tie it upside down, so your bow will be right side up.

The inside slider piece that comes out measures about 41/8 by a little less than 51/2. Decorate the inside as desired. Here's what I did with mine. I left it blank, so that I can write my own little note to someone who is amazing! I then cut out a 1" circle and sanded and distressed it and attached to the front and back piece of pattern paper .

AMuse Studio Grand Opening

Yep! I joined AMuse Studio like months ago, but it's taken me this long to get to my Grand Opening. I held one yesterday....of course, about 3-5 inches of white stuff dropped down on us Friday evening. And yep, I got up and shoveled my driveway for all my stamping friends who were coming. Sadly, the weather did tend to keep a lot of people away. However, I have another one planned for Tuesday evening (Jan. 24) from 6-8pm. Hope you can make it!! :)
So far I have 3 people that are interested in doing Stamp Club. I only need 7 more stampers! If I get more...I will start another one!!! Are you my next stamp club member?
What is stamp club?
It's where you come to my house and make 3 projects. I usually have 5 planned and then you get to choose your favorite 3 to make for FREE every 3rd Saturday or Sunday of the month. You also get a FREE catalog from me and FREE minis when available. And then you purchase $20 or more of AMuse Studio products. You get to pick a month you want to hostess. With the stamp club participants that means you would have at least $200 to start with and then if you would want to add to that, you could either have a book show or a show at your house. If you are more than an hour away from Biglerville, PA and want to participate in this virtually, email me and we can work out the details!!!!

Here's what my sample table looks like. I am slowly adding things, so by Tuesday it could look very different.

Look at this...Poolside Collection!!! How many of you have lots of pool, beach, summer photos that are just laying around waiting to be stuck to some of these papers?

And this one....I love it! I have 4H pictures of my daughter that I want to use to scrap. I just think this is Yee Haw adorable!!!

Take Me Out to the Ballgame!

If you have kids, you have to have lots of pictures of them playing all different kinds of sports. Jock Jams from TaDa Creative Studios is an amazing collection that allows you to scrap “all kinds” of sports. This is a picture of Jeremy’s baseball card from last year. Three Easy Cards

I love the "new" Christmas/Winter line that TaDa released this summer. And the name Frozen Tozen is just adorable. When I sat down to create this time I decided I wanted to create some cards to show off the diversity of this line. Not just Christmas cards, but some winter cards to hopefully inspire you this winter to create some cards with this new line. After all, we can't give a birthday card to someone in the winter time with flowers on it...LOL!

All of the cards measure 41/4" x 51/2"

It's been a long time. My hope is that you will start seeing more of me again. Sometimes life just gets in the way of all our extra little things we love to do. I had to share this picture of my daughter and her band mates after the championships at Hershey on Sunday. Gabrielle is on the far right. It's so hard to believe that she is a junior. All of you who have little ones, hold them tight and cherish the days. In only a blink of an eye they are all grown up!

The marching band placed 2nd out of 30 bands at the Atlantic Coast Championships on Sunday night in Hershey. They scored 95.55 and won best guard, brass, and visual. Governor Livingston placed 1st with a score of 95.75. This is the 5th year in a row that they have placed in the top 5 at ACCs.

Thanks for letting me share how proud I am of her and the band. It's amazing how hard they work throughout the summer and fall and how much their hard work pays off.

Nature At Its Best for Ta Da.

For today's post,I decided to pull out another old picture from when we went camping. I knew that the R&;R Collection would be just perfect for it.

I used some Sassafras Lass chipboard and flowers from my stash and the letters were American Crafts and Making Memories.

LCOM Weekly Card Sketch

I was so excited when I went to Hobby Lobby the other day and found the Go to Sketches Card Kit by Doodlebug. The cards on there are just adorable, but I have challenged myself to use the kit and create different cards. I know it's probably hard for you to see, but I used a flocked brad in the center of the flower. It is just adorable!!!

August Debut Project

Karen sent me some goodies to showcase product she has in The Paper Trail store. The oldie, but goodie line she sent me was the Crate Paper Paper Doll. I also dug back into my stash and found some things to include on here from The Paper Trail too. I thought this card would be perfect to give to someone who is having a baby girl! Don't have anyone in mind yet, but I am sure it won't be long!

Isn't my card holder the coolest thing? When I was at my local stamp store, I found these in a box for 59 cents. Her husband cuts the wooden stair rail posts and then cuts a slice into the top of them. The original reason he made them was to use when embossing(so you don't burn your fingers), but I love how they hold your cards too.

Another Re-Run Challenge!

Here's the last re-run challenge taking place over at Trail Makers Challenge Blog this month. This challenge was all about birds, bees, and butterflies and we would like to see another round of projects using these very versatile creatures!!

Here's what I came up with for the challenge when it originally posted...
this has to be one of my all time favorite layouts!!!!

From the Papertrails store I used the Little Yellow Bicycle Clothesline diecut paper and the Jenni Bowlin tags.

From my stash I used scraps of cardstock, yarn, glimmermist ( golden terra cotta, patina and lemon zest), watercolor crayons, American Craft letters, Martha Stewart chunky glitter, Crystal Effects, Stampendous Doodlebugs Clear Stamps

Whatever your little hearts can dream up for a project - show us!! You have a little more than a week left of the month to get your projects in for a fun prize! Just add your projects to the link at TrailMakers and voila - you are done!!!!

July How-to's for Crop Addict

This was such a quick and easy card to put together using the July Kit from Crop Addict.

I just LOVED the end result.

1. Paint star chipboard with blue acrylic paint and set aside to dry.

2. Place sticker strips on white 51/2 X41/4" cardstock.

3. Place small Adorn It Let Freedom Ring letters on card.

4. Attach star with pop up dots and place tissue paper flower inside with red sticker dot.

5. I also put 3 dots on after Let Freedom Ring with my fine point Sharpie marker.

This is the day Jeremy became a Boy Scout. He and his pack worked so hard to complete the requirements they needed to become a Boy Scout. I know Daddy worked hard too as their leader.

All supplies except for the compass stamp, the Smooch Spritz and the ink pad

are from the July Crop Addict Kit .

1. Prepare your cardstock by misting on the Tattered Angels compass stamp. I used Smooch Spritz log cabin. Cut 11 X11. Mount on Abby Road My Mind's Eye pattern paper and sew around the outside edge.

2. Distress with Charcoal Colorbox ink pad.

3. Cut out scallop from Cricut cartridge.

4. Cut My Mind's Eye pattern paper to 41/2". Attach to layout and distress with Charcoal Chalk box ink pad.

5. Doodle around the outside edge between sewing and edge of cs/pattern paper.

6. Place scallop on edge of cs and pattern paper. Sew down using straight stitch.

7. Attach embellies(pattern strips of paper, quote and circles). I popdotted the circles to give a little more pizzazz.

8. Sew around the edge of the pictures.

9. Attach letters.(these were from my stash)

Today it's my turn to post on TaDa's Facebook page. I thought I would share the new Christmas lines here and also my projects that I made with this line for CHA for a little Christmas in July!!! Have you seen the new lines that Mary and Annette have created? They are so yummy and so many possibilities!!!

Check out how this paper has a great pattern on the front that is fun and playful, but then on the back there is a more sophisticated pattern paper that matches and goes so well with the front!!!

These two card were very simple to make. Cards that you could make a few of in an hour or so! Isn't now a great time to get started on your homemade Christmas cards? Do a little every month from now until Thanksgiving and then all you will have to do is address them over Thanksgiving vacation. And VOILA...you will have created a part of you to send to all your friends and family!!! Every year at school, I change my "theme!" Last year I did owls in my classroom. This came out so cute and my saying always is..."Reach for the Stars!!!" I'm wondering if Kristy would design a digi stamp or stamp that has a boy holding onto a star? Then I could color 22 of these babies...one for each of my kiddos!

Sketch Challenges at Trail Makers!

At Trail Makers, Karen has had some sketch challenges over the last year. For this re-run challenge, pick one sketch and create your own version of it. If you are really on a creative roll- you are more than welcome to submit for each sketch! This first sketch was done by one of our former DT Members - Amarilys Doria. Isn't it great? If you use this sketch call it Amarilys' sketch!

On this layout, I used a lot of Once Upon a Springtime from Graphic 45. You can find a bunch at The Paper Trail here.

This one is from PageMaps from one of our challenges last fall!

Also - feel free to turn these layout sketches into a card too - using the photo part for your sentiment or other image- that will really show us your creativity!!!!!

Remember with sketches you can use the image as it is or you can flip it or rotate where you put stuff - and if it shows a flower, well you can interchange it with a butterfly or a star or whatever else you can come up with! The creations with these sketches are endless and limited only by our own creativity!!!! Have fun with it!

Practicing Copic!!

So yesterday I decided that I would try my hand at practicing using the Copic markers that I do have along with pairing them with the Bic and Sharpie permanent markers that I have too. I am finding that by jumping in with two feet and just fooling around with it to find out what feels right and looks right to my eye is really something you need to do to feel more comfortable with them. It's not like using watercolor pencils or the watercolor crayons. It really is a total different feel even though some of the concepts may be the same.

Here's my first one...

I decided to play along with Some Odd Girl this week and complete the challenge of using the DT's cards as inspiration. I decided to use Robin's card and Kristy's card as inspiration. I changed mine up a little and turned it, but it has the same sketch concept.

We are taking the month of July off, but Karen has some rerun challenges up for you to do. You know the oldies, but goodies! This week it's Multiple photos on a single layout...

This week you need to go back to September 2010 when this one originally aired and work with multiple photos on a single page layout. The original "episode" asked you to use 4-6 photos on a single page layout and we are hoping you can do it again!!! These photos can be cropped smaller, cropped into different shapes or just plain printed smaller!!! But, if you are feeling extra creative maybe you are able to actually get all four photos on this layout in the original 4x6 size!! That could be a real challenge, eh??

Here is my layout from the multiple photo challenge...

Supplies I used from my inspiration kit at The Paper Trail are my capella brown buttons and then I used capella falsetto, capella bravo, capella libretto and capella venetian papers for my page. I also used my capella micro mono stickers to put Friends on my photo.

The only thing I used out of my own stash this time were circle punches, American Crafts letters and the lace punch.

Road Trip to Syracuse!

When I got an email awhile back about there being a Copic certification in Syracuse, NY, I contacted a couple LCOM forum friends and asked if they would like to join me. I was so excited when they said YES! and also signed up to go to the Copic Certification and were accepted.

As the weeks approached, I found myself becoming giddy yet nervous at the same time. Meeting two people, spending 3 hours with one of them in car and about an hour with the other that I had talked with on the forum after talking with them only on-line. Lots of what if questions went through my mind, but for some reason all of those dissipated very quickly because I was just way too excited.

First, I picked up Joyce in Bloomsburg. I'm not blonde, but because I was a bit nervous ....I am sure her husband was a bit worried that she would be traveling 3 more hours with me and then I had to bring her home safely on Saturday. I was just having such a horrible time FINDING them!!! When they were right there! (LOL!!!) After about an hour traveling with Joyce, we stopped at Red Lobster for lunch. Driving into the parking space, I drove too far up and hit the curb...what a goof I am!!! I talked the shrimp bruschetta up like there was no tomorrow. She had eaten 2 pieces of it and I tried one. Oh my...it was aweful!!! The bread was so soggy. Joyce had it taken off of the bill ( she was very nice about it) and the manager was asking us if she could get us some dessert!!! Then on the way back to I81, I ran a stop sign...whoops! I saw it, but didn't stop! Not sure why! Thank God no one was coming! Joyce says...you just ran that stop sign! We talked the whole way up and didn't seem to have much trouble talking and conversating the whole way there.

At Exit 6 on I81, we picked Susie up. It is near Bighamton, but some little town like Chichango...that might be it.(not sure) We picked her up at a Burger King and now all 3 of us were getting to know each other. After I talked on my cell phone as we were driving in New York, I learned that it was against the law. Whoops!!!

We arrived at the hotel, unpacked and found that there were some scrappy spots we needed to check out! Without the GPS, we would have been in big trouble!!! It's sad that so many of the local scrapbook stores are closing, so we ended up at Hobby Lobby and AC Moore. We ate at Olive Garden and didn't have to wait for more than 5 minutes. WOW...that was a surprise!

Back at the hotel, we went to the lobby breakfast area and used Joyce's stash of Copic markers coloring away and playing a little! What great fun!!!

Then the big day arrived...we got to meet Colleen Schaan. What a great presenter! It is so obvious that she is a teacher. Funny, personable, and a little anal retentive (LOL!) I learned so much about the Copics and am so excited that I am now certifiable! I need to practice some more...LOTS more!!!

The trip back seemed to take FOREVER!!! It's always like that though isn't it!?

Just So Beautiful from Ta Da!!!

I've been wanting to scrap this picture of Kati for a long time. You know how you just seem to wait for the "perfect" paper to go with the picture. Well, I think I finally found it!

I whitewashed my background paper by taking a wet paper towel and pouring gesso into it. Then I just rubbed it over my 12 X 12 pattern paper to give it more texture and lighten the background up a little.

With CHA around the corner, we always want to see what's NEW and WONDERFUL out there, but remember to check out all the old and wonderful things that Ta Da Creative studios has. For this layout, I used the Whirly Gig collection...

Oh Wow!!! It is such an honor to be on Ta Da's DT right now! The sneak peeks that are on the blog today are just FANTABULOUS!!!! Here they are for you to see and why I am so excited about each one of them!

Aren't these colors amazing!!!? It's what we see all over the place! The bright colors just draw me to this paper and really make me think about the wonderful things my friends do for me!!!

This is just too cute! I can't wait to get a hold of this and scrapbook my winter pages. I can see how you could even scrap some Christmas pages too! Don't you just love the name?

And last, but not least!!!

Again, I love these colors! They go together so nicely! Gears and plaids and camos and don't forget texting! They just shout boys, but I can see that this collection could be very versatile.

Scraplift Challenge at Crop Addict!

I am so excited!!!! For my last challenge at Crop Addict as the Featured Designer of the month, I contacted Jaime Warren...my Scrap Idol...to ask her if it was OK to use the layout below to scraplift. Her layouts always inspire me with all the extra little goodies she adds and looks so effortless. And I just love the photos she takes of her kids. Maybe someday I will be able to do something close to what she does!!! She quickly emailed me back and told me that she would LOVE for us to use it!

So, I got to work on mine! Hoping that I would come close to creating something as wonderful as she did! With everything going on in my life right now I decided to create a page of me...which I never do! I actually found it therapeutic! And I am not too upset with how the picture of me came out that I took the other day! (too much light, but!!!!)

Thought I would share my technique for this month too! I haven't unpacked my Big Shot yet, so I was fooling around with my embossing plates and some sand paper one day. It really creates a cool texture on your paper. It's very easy to do. Just lay the embossing plate underneath your paper with the bumpy side touching your paper and sand away. You do want to be careful that you stay away from the outside lines of the plate so you don't get the lines in it. I also found that if you use a finer sand paper, you don't have as much trouble with the outside lines.

Bountiful Blooms Stone Coasters

It's my turn to post on Facebook today using TaDa products. I decided I would create some tumbled stone coasters using:

Here's a picture of what they all look like completely finished. So that I didn't have to spray matte finish on them, I used pigment inks from Memento and a Stampin Up' black journaling pigment marker. Then after that I placed them in a 350 degree oven for about 10-15 minutes. Please be aware that your ink will fade. If you want to use any type of ink on them, you will need to spray matte finish on them and then you don't have to cook them.

Here's a close up of LOVE!

When they come out of the oven, let cool and then I used felt to put in each of the corners with my Tombo wet glue.

Next, I used one of the snippets and clippets to create a tag.

And used a Stampin' Up! stamp to place for you on in my Memento black tuxedo ink pad. Tied with a ribbon and VOILA...all done!

I already gave them to a friend! She loved them!

43 Years with June's Paper Trail Kit

I know I don't thank my parents enough for all that they have done and do for me! So, with this anything goes challenge this month here at Trail Makers I decided to showcase my parents. This picture was taken almost 2 years ago on Valentine's Day at my little brother's wedding. Dad's eyes are all squinty and goofy looking, but if they weren't I would think something was wrong because he truly is a a big old goofball. He comes off all gruff at times, but he's just masquerading that cupcake of a heart that he has. Mom looked gorgeous in that dress. I was so happy that she found something that she felt great in. She truly deserves it! This is a couple that truly belongs together who have raised 5 children!

They truly are heroes that the world doesn't know much about...hopefully this puts them in the limelight!

Everything on the page is from the June kit except the homemade flower that I made and sprayed with glimmermist. I really hope that you will find the time to scrapbook and show us your projects! Can't wait to see them! So glad you stopped by today!

Masculine Card Challenge

The June Kit from The Paper Trail really is very conducive to Dad pages and cards! In fact, I think it's just PERFECT. Here's my Dad's Day card that I made. I decided to try something a little different and make a tag card. I cut it at 51/2 X 4 1/4" and then cut one corner off. After that I flipped over what I cut and laid it on the other side so it would be even. Too cool! All supplies are from the kit except the ribbon, the jumbo brad and the metal clock. Those Kaisercraft miniletter stickers are perfect for greetings. Because they are so stark white what I did was take my chalkbox charcoal ink pad across them to give them more of a vintagey feel. Don't you just love Coredinations cardstock. Karen put some in the kits this time. Take a look at the black. I love how the kraft comes through the black cs when I distressed the edges and then sand it.

It has chipboard, canvas and acrylic pieces.

I cut 2 of the scallops off of my mini to create a car.

I used the Punky Sprouts Lil Bloom.

I just wrapped it up and then put a pop dot on the end of it to keep it together. Love them!

I used my cricut accents essentials cartridge to cut my wheels out.

So so fun!

I ran through my big shot to create a texture look. Have to tell you as I was running it through I was afraid it was going to break, but it really does work! (lol) I just cut a piece from the snippets and clippets page and from the balancing act paper the balls.

I ran my ink pad across the cardboard and then added some color with my ink pad on the material.

Crop Addict May Layouts How-to's!

Pigtails Sweetie Layout
This is a picture of my daughter who will turn 15 in November!!! Love this picture because it truly shows her personality and all that sass she has!!! I am truly enjoying scrapping pics from years ago!!!

1. Use the 12X12 red shade of bazzill in your kit and spritz with some glimmer mist.

2. Distress the edges of your cardstock and add some dark brown colorbox chalk ink to it.

3. I cropped my picture at 4 X 5 3/4". Finally, I cut Allie 3 1/2 X 10 1/4."

Then used Emma from Paper Doll collection in the May Crop Addict kit and cut it to 4 3/4 X 6 1/2."

Next, I cut Ashley from Paper Doll collection in Crop Addict's May kit 5 1/4 X 8 3/4".

Finally, I cut Allie from Paper Doll collection in the May Crop Addict Kit 3 1/2 X 10 1/4."

4. I laid the scallop sticker from the Paper doll journal stickers down on the side of the paper and then layered each piece of cut pattern paper on top. See picture for details.

I zigzag stitched along the outside edge of the scallop sticker and the Allie pattern paper.

5. Then I embellished the page with several chipboard embellishments. I inked the edges with my dark brown colorbox chalk ink pad.

(You get 1 sheet of these in the kit option! I had so much fun with mine!)

6. I added the pigtail sticker to my journaling spot from Maya Road.

(These come in different colors in the kit. I think white or pink. Mine were pink!)

There you have it! Very simple and fun!

Cute Little Cousins

This is another picture of Kati, but much more recent.

Just realized they both have to deal with her hair (LOL!)

1. I created my pictures on Picasa and used the collage with the polaroid settings.

I just messed around with it until I found something I liked.

2. I sewed a straight stitch around the outside edge of the Paisley Girls Paperie pattern paper and then every once in awhile turned my stitch to zigzag.

2. I laid the My Little Shoebox Imagine a Forest Fresh Air diecut on the paper and then cut off what I didn't want with scissors. It was easy to do because of the lines that are on it.

3. Then I added the border sticker on the edge and used a strip of Katie pattern paper. I used my EK Success spiral punch along the edge of it and then tucked it under the edge of the sticker.

For placement of the pictures refer to my page. Next I added journaling stickers and some chipboard stickers.

4. I tucked the Bazzill library pocket under the edge of the die cut paper,

added a sticker and a Maya Road journaling sheer.

5. Then I placed the sparkle chipboard dress hanger on it and added the Making Memories puffy alphabet stickers. I also placed the word cute above the alphabet stickers to give it more dimension.

Didn't I tell you this kit was all about the girls? It's just great!!!

How was your Mother's Day? It was a beautiful weekend here in my neck of the woods, so I didn't do much scrapping! Hope you are ready to get back into the swing of the Trail Makers For the Love of Scrapping Crop at the Trail Makers blog. Here's the next challenge! For this challenge, you need to create a handmade flower(s) because April Showers bring May Flowers!!!

I used the Nikki Sivils It's Raining, It's Pouring Collection to create this card. The big scallops are just punched out circles. Then I took my Sizzix flower die and created the flower! I cut the rain boots out from the Nikki Sivils paper and added it to the middle of my flower.

My Girl Ta Da Layout!

Here's my first project for the Ta Da blog! Love how it turned out!

The Goody Two Shoes collection is so versatile and easy to use!

I had so much fun creating this layout! I especially love it when I get to scrap photos I already have printed. Believe it or not that little girl in the photos is 16 years old and has her permit. Yikes! Do I ever feel old?

And now you know how far behind I am!!!

I used the new Goody Two Shoes collection. One of my favorite things to do lately is to use strips of pattern paper and sew them on my layouts! It adds so much texture and lots of fun to your layouts! If you look closely, you can see where I cut the strips from Mommy’s Closet and then distressed and used them on my layout. I had to cut about an inch off the ends so that I could sew around my pattern paper.

Then I used Fancy Schmancy to cut out my scallop embellishments. I attached them with a pop up dot and added a button to them to give them a little character.

And TaDa creates a snippets and clippets page for each of their lines. I think they make great titles for your pages and adds that extra little something something. Isn’t it great that you can just grab and go and you have everything you need to create a page?

Challenge #2 at Trail Makers!

Have you stopped by Trail Makers to see the month long crop that is going on at the blog? We are on Challenge #2! When Krystle challenged me to make my own flourish at Trail Makers for the Love of Scrapbooking Month Long Crop, I decided to use my Kaisercraft black studded arrow as a flourish. You'll see that I just tucked my arrow head under the flower that I made and then carefully laid it down on my card. It was so easy and love how it turned out!

My pattern papers, little blue stitched button and ribbon are all from the April Kit at The Paper Trail. The large button is from the March Kit at The Paper Trail.

I also used the java bazzill cardstock from The Paper Trail.

The prize for this challenge is a gelatins stamp set...Oodles of Doodles II

They were so adorable and it has been such a pleasure watching them grow up!

May Kit Debut from Trail Makers

Here's my debut layout using the kit!

May's Kit from The Paper Trail is yummy! All that It's the Little Things from Fancy Pants. The papers are subtle, elegant, yet fun. I love the hint of gold that is in this paper. It matches my daughter's softball uniform perfectly. I wanted to make it a girlie layout though too. And I think it worked! By the way, in case you are wondering the reason why the 4's are on there is that is her number. All things are from the kit except the American Crafts letters, embellishments and the Glitz letters. Also, wanted to tell you that I cut out a frame on the inside of paper, so that I could save paper. Then I used that paper to create the spiral notebook fringes and the scallop circles.

Have you ever watched a catcher as they play ball? They have that big mask on, along with all that equipment. They are supposed to be Spider Man and catch all the balls that the pitcher throws, watch for who is stealing bases and then physically tag out the runner trying to get a run. What I find amazing is the position they need to sit in for long periods of time with there arm behind their back. I'm glad it's her and not me! She does a great job at it though!

As soon as I saw this sketch I thought about my Goody Two Shoes line from Ta Da Creative Studios. I love this line. It's so soft and subtle and girlie. There are so many uses for it!

I went to work and had lots of fun adding some details.

Bee Happy and A Fun Spring Day How to's for Crop Addict!

Here's the two page layout I created with April's Crop Addict Kit and the Add On! I was so proud of myself (even though it was an easy 2 pager because of the way the papers are made from Adorn It.)!!

For the left side...

1. Layer all pictures in white bazzill from the kit.

2. the 2 flowers and smile are clear stickers. Place them on white bazzill and for flowers cut around them. The Smile sticker I just cut a small square and attached to my photo as a tab.

3. Attach photos.

4. Place popdot on back of flowers and attach to corners of photos.

5. Place piles of smiles on picture.

6. Put pop up dots on You and Me and attach to page above photo.

7. Place scallop sticker border under picture and cut off.

8. Run the distresser or your finger nail around the outside edge of the pattern paper.

For the right side...

1. Layer picture in white bazzill from the kit.

2. Cut out or punch 3 11/4" circles

3. Adhere circles onto back of photo so only about half of the circle shows.

4. Lay bee and flourish on white bazzill and cut around.

5. Attach photo to pattern paper.

6. Cut one inch strip of striped paper. Fold back and forth and then line with adhesive so it sticks together well. Punch holes at top and bottom and attach brads from kit.

7. Place pop dot on back of bee and flourish. Attach to pattern paper.

8. Use distressor or fingernail to distress around outside edge of pattern paper.

9. Lay pages side by side and place title on your page.

This page totally takes me back to the day that Craig was stung twice. Jeremy had been stung a day or so before and we couldn't understand where the bees were coming from. He cried so hard and was so upset when he saw that Daddy was stung too. Finally, we found the humongous bee hive that the bees had made in the tree.

1. Spray spots on bazzill polka dot paper with Tattered Angels sand glimmer mist.

2. Punch 3scallop circles out of pattern paper Bee Happy from Adorn it and 1 from brown paper.

3. Cut white/yellow pattern paper 61/2 X 93/4" and attach to middle of page.

4. Punch scallop edge and adhere to paper.

5. Sew around outside edge of paper twice and down the scallop with brown thread in straight stitch.

6. Cut 1" X 93/4" pattern paper strip and attach to left side of white/yellow pattern paper.

7. Cut pattern paper scallops in half and attach according to picture under brown scallop edge.

8. Place photo on according to picture.

9. Place be happy sticker on white bazzill and cut out around it. Attach it by placing 5 pop dots on back and putting in upper left hand corner.

10. Cut edge and butterflies off of journaling card. Place on page according to phot on scrapbook page and attach other half of scallop circle to top of hive.

11. Cut 11/2" circle and place letters...look ... on circle. Use sharpie fine point marker to place dots around the edge of the circle. Attach to brown scallop and then place on page according to picture.

12. Put colorbox dark brown chalk ink around edge of bee sticker. Place pop dot on back of it and then place on top of bee hive and corner of picture. Attach see through flourish sticker directly to page.

13. Attach bee stickers and use fine point sharpie marker to draw tails on the end of the bees.

14. Put colorbox dark brown chalk ink around the edge of the whole entire page.

Sweet Spring Doorhanger for Trail Makers

The challenge at Trail Makers this time is...rain or water. Scrap or make a project that has something to do with water. I have to say I don't take pictures in the rain and although I could have as much as it's rained this

month(Blech!), I also wanted to figure out a way I could use my stamp sets with my rain boots

and the cloud (too cute!) to use with the April Kit at The Paper Trail.

Woohoo! I am finally getting these posted and I think I'm finally feeling better after an over week long battle of what my neurologist says are "complex migraines!" Believe me I don't wish them on anyone!

This April Kit was so fun to play with that is available at Crop Addict right now.

I am so proud of myself that I actually used pictures on 2 out of the 3 layouts that are from my humongous Creative Memories file box...my to be scrapped box(LOL!)

This is a picture of Jeremy and my husband. Jeremy had been stung by a bee a few days ago. He cried so hard and just kept saying Mommy, it hurts! Poor little thing! So, when Craig went out and was mowing the lawn, he got stung twice. We had to assure Jeremy that Daddy was OK and almost make a joke of it because he almost started crying again. It melted my heart to see that at almost 4 he had developed empathy.

Have to say I am enjoying the April Kit from The Paper Trail and our sponsor's templates Krisi's Kreations.

Don't you just love when a project that you are making turns out better than you thought it would!?

Well, that's exactly what happened when I started with this and of course April's Kit!

And turned it into this!

Isn't it great? By turning it upside down, you can create a small basket. I think that this is what I am going to have my kids at school make this year. It's a perfect (party hat...LOL!!) size and if you use ribbon they can hang it on a doorknob and brighten up the room a little.

Here's a close up of the tag I made usingLet's Party template from Krisi's Kreations. This is how it fits the Trail Makers challenge...to use the badge for inspiration. I made the tag the shape of our title and also used the polka dot yellow cardstock that comes in the kit. Don't you just love that felt prima flower with the cute little Crate Paper button which...YES...comes in the kit too!!!

I used this template from Krisi. I love it because there are two sizes. A large and a small shape. It makes it so easy to layer.

And here's how I dressed up the felt handle a little. I just put a little ink on it and placed the border sticker from the April Kit on top of it.

I got my inspiration from the idea of filling the manicotti with something and also the ridges in the manicottis.

Here it is:

I made it using 3 of Krisi's Kreations pillow box small templates and from her accordion flower. Krisi is our sponsor this month at Trail Makers. I altered the directions from the pillowbox bucket at Splitcoast Stampers, but it basically goes together the same way to make this basket. I will make another one and have the exact measurements for you later this week. I just don't want to tell you wrong. Some hints when making the accordion flower...have patience (LOL!) I had a piece of scrap paper covered in 4 pop dots to lay the flower down onto, so it will stick and stay. This one isn't perfect, but I think it adds some character. To get my texture on my brown cardstock I used my Big Shot and embossing folder.

Sketch Challenge at Trail Makers

I love Amarilys' sketch. It was so easy to create a layout using it. I have to say this another one of my favorite layouts I have created so far this year. I used some of my Making Memories paint and wet my sponge brush to create the frame around the pattern paper, the photo, fabric letters and tag. I sprayed my doily with Tattered Angels glimmermist sand. You know you can get those doilies at The Dollar Tree. And no...I didn't take this picture so that I would have it to go with this line in March's The Paper Trail Kit. It was taken a few years ago on Easter. And as always, Kati was acting so silly. Her dress was so busy, so I made it black and white and softened it around the edges.

Don't you just love that ribbon that is included in March's The Paper Trail Kit? Oh my....it is so beautiful!!! To create the flower effect, I just tied the ribbon three times loosely, put a pop dot on the back of it, stuck it to the paper and then played with it once I put it down to get it to look like that.

A Layout and A Cup

A few weekends ago, my sister and I went to a weekend crop. It was so fun to spend the weekend with her. We live two and a half hours away and don't get to see each other as often as we would like. I have to tell you, I don't get much done when I go because I spend too much time talking and having a good time. I wanted to share a couple things that I finished. Have to say I LOVE them!!!!

This again reminds me of how far behind I am in scrapbooking. These pics were taken before I had a digital camera in the Summer of 2001. I used the glimmer mist to add a little color to the cardstock. I also sewed around the edge twice with brown thread and then used yellow thread to zigzag to create some texture on the border. I also folded the paper kind of funky like and stitched it with white thread. Of course, you can see I did a lot of fussy cutting too! It was so fun and I love how it came together.

Supplies used:

Glimmermist: Tattered Angels lemon

Transparency: My Little Shoebox

I also created an insert for a mug. It actually was the challenge at the Crop to decorate the insert of the mug. It was so fun once I got started.

I just fussy cut around all the cupcakes. Inked up the brown cardstock, the cupcakes and the foam. Sewed around the cardstock in white. Then attached them all to the piece of cardstock. For the title I punched that out of an EK Success punch and put so sweet! on the punch.

To add a little bit of something...something, I cut out 8 scallop flowers and made this little flower. You can learn to make this flower by going to my tutorial here. The scallop I got from Krisi's Kreations template here. I sprayed it with some glimmermist to give it a little shine too.

Isn't this a great sketch?! I had so many ideas rolling through my mind for this one and had to finally make a decision of what I was going to do. I decided on this because one of the gals at school just had a baby. We all thought it was going to be a boy just the way she was carrying and she carried a lot like the last time(when she had a boy). And she didn't want to find out...she wanted it to be a surprise!!! She was even convinced it was going to be a boy! Lo and behold, she had a little girl!!! I can just imagine how tickled pink she was! Can't wait to talk to her! Glossy Accents Tips

With this fussy cut fairy, I placed glossy accents where I wanted and then shook glitter on it. Not only do I have dimension, but also a shimmer.

Anywhere you want dimension just go over it with the glossy accents. If you look closely you can see that I used it on all the butterflies on the patterned piece of paper. You can also see that I put a dot in the center of each of those diamonds with the glossy accent to add dimension. I also used it as a glue to put the jewels on the paper.

The Third Month Challenge from TrailMakers

Here's my Third Month Challenge! Can you believe it is the third month of 2011 already? I decided to use pictures that I took in the Johnson Square in Savannah, Georgia this past summer. It really was magical to see the garden in that square, especially since it is my last name.(LOL!) It was also the first sight seeing adventure that we saw in Savannah after we had driven for over ten hours. I wanted to remember that magical essence that I felt on that day when we walked through the square and I thought that March's The Paper Trail Kit was perfect for it! I cut the frame out and had to keep the fairy attached because she is just so beautiful! I used the glossy accents to attach the jewels that are included in the kit and made a homemade flower out of the patterned paper included in the kit.

Here are the rest of my projects so far this month that I have created with the March Kit.

It really is a yummy kit, but I am partial because I love My Little Shoebox papers!

This You are My Sunshine card I made with the scraps that I cut off of my shaped paper on the next layout!

It's a very simple card, but I love how it turned out. All supplies were used from the March Crop Addict Kit except for my ink pad.

Gabrielle actually took these pictures of herself. I was going to title it something like Reaching for the Stars because in these pictures it shows that, but I also wanted to remind her of the things that we need her to do right now. She tends to be very serious and forget that she needs to have fun and relax sometimes too! She truly is a delight in our lives. Don't you just love that My Little Shoebox from the March Kit.

This has to be my favorite layout that I have made in 2011 so far! So simple yet so amazingly beautiful!

Again, Gabrielle took this picture of herself one day! And she uploaded them onto the computer,

so then I figure they are fair game for me to use!

Here's how I made this page...

1. Ink up the edges and across the polka dot MLSB paper.

2. Cut a 1" strip and fold/pleat back and forth. At the end of the paper cut a triangle out of it. Ink it up.

3. From the MLSB paper cut the wide strip. Pleat your paper, but don't push the fold down all the way down the paper. Only at the top...so it's like pleating when you sew. Then sew a straight edge across the top of your paper. Place on your paper with pop up dots trying to straighten out as much as possible.

4. Put 1" strip over top of it.

5. Slide picture down under the strip.

6. Cut out flowers, clouds, and butterfly. Ink up as desired.

7. Punch out Love Beyond Measure title tag and ink up as desired. Attach brown brad (from my stash) in tag hole.

8. Place all embellies on the paper as seen in picture.

9. Place Jenni Bowlin journaling sticker on your page and journal.

This picture was taken at a Girl Scout camping trip that our whole family went on. On the last day, we were taking pictures of the girls and Jeremy decided that he would be a goofball and run into the picture just as I was taking it. His favorite saying is "What's Up?" and I think it was very fitting for this picture! He is truly a goofball, but we love him tremendously!

I used the Dream Street Papers from the March 2011 Crop Addict Kit and a piece of "green" Bazzill cardstock that is in the kit.

1. Cut the floral paper 81/2 X11 and then cut the blue piece about 3", the striped piece about 21/2" and the green piece about an 11/2".

2. Sew around the green piece of Bazzill two times with black thread and also inked it up with charcoal colorbox ink.

3. The green piece of paper that is 11/2" cut in on each of the lines to the next line on the graph. The graph paper design really makes it easy to cut straight and have them be about the same width a part. Curl your edges with by rolling with your fingers.

4. Place all the pieces on top of the floral piece starting from the left with the blue, then the striped and then the curled green piece.

5. Sew around the outside edge. When you get to the part that is curled go as far in as you can and then backstitch. Cut your threads. Move your needle, so you are under where it will be curled and start sewing. Also, you can add some zig zag stitching in there to give it more dimension.

6. Using your scissors cut the scallop around the edge of the Dream Street Paper and then turn it over on the back. Cut it about 6" long and then use the other side (printed black) to layer on top.

7. Cut the heart out of your Dream Street paper and place popdot on back.

8. Cut about a 3" piece of red ribbon and tie in a knot. Place on your page with a popdot. Then mono the edges down creating a pucker effect.

9. Run your charcoal color box ink pad along the cardstock to create a shadow. Place your red letters on top...what a ... Then sew straight edge and change to zigzag stitch. You may want to practice on a scrap sheet, so you know what it looks like and how your machine works.

10. Place American crafts fabric letters on green bazzill.

11. Cut out blank quote and put What's Up on it. Attach to picture.

12. Using the scrap piece of green chart Dream Street paper, place behind the picture and journal the date on it.

13. Punch holes in the top right hand corner. Place the metal brads from We R Memory Keepers that are located in the March Kit on your page.

Voila! All done!

I made this mini the other week. It captures the memories that the girls and I have on a Girl Scout trip we took to New Jersey for the Beach Jam. We didn't stay in a tent on the beach though! We stayed in a motel! I love looking at these pictures of myself because it reminds me of how much weight I have lost!:)

The new kit for The Paper Trail debuts today!

I made this really cute origami envelope with the kit contents.

March's Kit from The Paper Trail has "spring" written all over it! Especially since it's all the gorgeous papers from Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime. I thought this would be a perfect pick me up for one of my friends who just can't wait for spring to come and loves to garden! The pattern paper is cut into an 81/2" square and then folded. It goes together so fast and is super easy!!!

Look at that beautiful button that comes in the kit too.
